If the engine does not crank (or cranks but won’t start), the wireless control module (WCM) may have locked up. This is due to static discharge through the ignition key. A revised model should be installed, but simply disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for thirty seconds will temporarily reset the module so you can start the car.

If the voltage returns to 5V while the coolant temp sensor is disconnected then you know the sensor is shorted. Try disconnecting the coolant temp sensor and cranking the engine to see if you have spark at one of the coils. Tested control circuit from relay to ecm and got .3 ohms. Relay powers up when key first turned on. Have 12 vdc at coils and injectors when jumping relay still won’t start.

Yes if by the start position you mean the position the key is in when the starter is cranking. I do not know how long it would keep cranking because I quickly move the key back out of concern it might damage the starter or something else. The frustrating thing is it only does it SOMETIMES and it has never done it yet when a mechanic has tried it.
