Why do Duallys have two wheels?

Why do Duallys have two wheels?

The technical term is “dual rear wheel”, called dually or DRW for short, and it all comes down to increase safety and stability when towing. With two wheels instead of one, a truck can distribute the weight of a payload more evenly and have improved stability when towing loads like horse trailers or large campers.

How are the axles on a dually different?

The axles are different widths, but the mounting points are same as long as the original dually wasn’t a cab chassis. Only issue we ran into was that one of the axles had a single speed sensor at the pumpkin, and the other one had one for each wheel. Threw ABS codes and traction control codes.

Can a dual wheel truck be converted to single wheel?
