You have the z16xe1 engine, if you look at your picture, on the right hand side you can see a large white label on the wiring loom, the egr valve is next to it, you can just see the plug for it covering the corner of the label.
How to remove EGR valve from Vauxhall Zafira?
It is held on to the block with two star bolts a 5/16 AF ring spanner fits ok and two coolant pipes need to be removed from the valve body before the EGR valve can be removed. On inspection I found the valve was heavily coated with carbon and the stem was binding in its bushing due to the carbon.

The egr valve is on the top right side of the inlet manifold with your head under the bonnet. A cylinder shape/upright with a electrical connection on top held on with 2 hex bolts. Lots of people have problems with these and some Vauxhall garages will happily fit you a new one for £150. The better ones will fit a blanking plate and reprogramme.
