Your ABS module is located directly beneath your air cleaner next to and just above the steering gear box. It is black plastic and silver alumnium. Says Kelsey-Hayes right on and has six brake lines attached to it.

Why is the ABS warning light on on my explorer?
I have a 2008 Explorer, 4×4 drive, with the V6 engine. It has just over 124,000 KM on it. The ABS RSC warning light and beeping occurs on occasion as well. If I go really easy on the brakes, all is well. I have Inspected all brake pads.

The ABS light come one after a few miles… takes longer when it is cold… sooner if it warm or has been recently driven. Not a function of using the breaks or not (breaks work are very crisp).

Why does my abs light come on when I clean my wheel sensor?
Some of those things are serious, but oftentimes it just means you need to clean the sensors. One or more dirty wheel sensors (all cars with anti-lock brakes have at least one) can cause the system to trigger the ABS light during the computer’s self-evaluation cycle.
