If the engine temp is up or near operating range the ECM cycles the switch on and off sooner, depending on engine coolant temp. I have had this very same issue but on a 3116. What kind of relay is used on Cat 3126 engine?
On the 3116/3126 engines we have been using the Blue Bird relay that is used for the body heater/light functions. It does require replacing the terminal ends with something much heavier.
