When did DT466 truck die and will not start?
(1) August 2015 truck was towed back to our place. One of the guys here said that he drained water out of the fuel and the truck started, but then it didn’t start next day so we called local mechanic and he checked electrical connectors and found that fuse in battery box was not making connection and shorted.
Why does my international 4300 DT466 not start?
If theres any air in it at all, it wont start. . The daytime running lights (DRL) and low beam headlights are inoperable. The highbeam headlights, markers and all other lights function properly. I have checked the fusebox in the engine compartment and above the glovebox and am unable to locate either a DRL/headlight, fuse or relay.

Got that all fixed. Realized that my primer pump would leak when I would pump it, replaced the entire assembly. Filled both filters, truck fired on the first try. Now today go to run a call, cranks and cranks wont start. Gave a shot of ether, fires but wont run on diesel.

Why does my dt466e diesel engine not start?
DT466E international diesel wont start… Will it stay running, after you ether it? Or does it just die out again? Do you have access to a scanner, any engine light on? Does the tach read while you are cranking? Can you use the hand primer on the filter base to try and prime system, if it does not get hard to pump you are most likely sucking air.

The high psi oil system, in a dt466e you have high psi oil that fires the injectors, and sometimes the pump can actually bleed down overnight causing it to take forever to start, the only way to check that will be let it sit overnight and there is a temp sensor in the front cover/ drivers side . it is right in front of the oil/fuel pump.

Also when you break fuel system down beaware you could have a standpipe in tank bad. If at all possible put a fuel psi guage on the schrader valve while you are t/s this issue. Why was the fuel psi regulator changed?

The 195 HP is the second lowest offered in the line-up, to get more powr you need more Tq and that includes pistons, turbo and injectors (possibaly the HPOP as well). In fact, you may need a lager CAC and/or radiator as well.

The truck will crank and accelerate great, then it begins smoking and goes into a limp mode with little pedal reaction. If you raise the rpm’s the smoke goes from whitish grey to dark almost black, but only when you raise the rpm’s.

The only difference betwene the two is how light your pocket will be. If its not the issue youre only out 25 or 30 bucks. Had mine go a couple times they usualy give up the ghost every 50,000 to 100,000 as long as you dont run too hot and driving conditions.

We have some injector problems on our 99 DT466. Apparently the injectors have a mechanical side and an electrical side to them. We had broblems with the mechanical side. when we put the truck on the scanner to do an injector buzz test, the injector would appear as if it were ok,but it wasn’t. The problem was on the mechanical side.

(Today) Driver was exiting freeway on an uphill ramp when he intentionally disengaged the cruise control. This time the pedal was unresponsive. So we are having it towed back to the International dealer.
Why did my 7.3-02 F250 engine die?
After 15-20 minutes it starts again and runs normal. I drive back home and leave the truck idling, 4 minutes later it dies again the same way. Tries to start it again and starter runs slower until the starter melted. I’ve ordered a new starter but why did the engine die in the first place?
