What to do with an old steering shaft?

The old steering shaft came off after a few hits with a hammer. I cleaned (brushed off) the bolts and put a little bit of loctite for screws (blue liquid). Good thing is that the new steering shaft goes on very easy (I would clean off any old rust after the old part is removed to make the new part go in easier).
