What kind of engine does a C-15 twin turbo have?
It’s the C-15 twin turbo. It’s an 04. This is the first year of the Acert. The guy in Knoxville said it mine is the first model of the first year. He said it’s a BNX or BMX. Soon after mine came out they changed to a different design and named it different.
What to look out for with the cat ACERT series / Twin Turbo?
The 2011 Duramax and the 2011 Ford both have urea systems. I think the Cummins Dodge Blu-Tec system still gets by without it for 2011. I’ll be keeping my ’08 Duramax for a long time. We’ll also have a whole new round of crap with the EPA fuel economy regulations passed just today for diesel pick-ups and heavy duty trucks.

We found out the hard way, the C-15 engine has to use CAT fuel filters. The other filters starve the engine. I know it sounds bizarre, but, thats what we had to do to get rid of a horrible vibration. It only took eight times and Lemon Law to get the problem fixed. Good Luck

After changinging fuel filters with no result we put it in shop and found #1 and #2 injectors bad.

Why did my C-15 twin turbo engine go bad?
Had an ecm go bad on our 2005 C-15 Twin turbo, cost was about $2100 to replace at dealer and take a look at fuel line that runs behind ECM they will rub computer from vibration and chafe the line and leak, Put some insulation on it after repair.
