Is there an 8.1 Vortec Class A motorhome?
I have had both, the V10 in a 2001 motorhome and the 8.1 in my current 2003 motorhome. There is noticeably more power with the 8.1 and after driving it to Alaska and through most of Canada, I wouldn’t have any other power train than the 8.1 coupled with the Allison 1000 Tranny. California RV wrote: On an 05 or older chassis the 8.1 has more horse power and torque than the v-10. In 06 they redesigned the heads on the v-10 to improve the power. The 2 engines are now within 5 ft lbs of torque of each other.
