What is Fiberskyn?
Fiberskyn® is a lamination process using poly-spun material specifically designed to reduce overtones. Fiberskyn is a fast action, easy play drumhead that produces controlled warm overtones. Its superior construction and performance have made it one of the world’s most widely recorded synthetic drumheads.
What is Fiberskyn made of?
Fiberskyn consists of two layers glued together, PET film and Tyvek. The Mylar provides strength, while the Tyvek adds thickness, a less synthetic sound, and an appearance reminiscent of animal skin.
What is the head of drums made of?

What are the differences in drum heads?
Non-coated heads will produce a brighter, less controlled sound, and they will have more attack. Coated heads have a warmer tone when compared side by side with non-coated heads, even when tuned to the exact same pitch.

What are the best skins for bongos?
Cowhide is the preferred type for conga heads. It is thick and needs to be soaked in warm water for 3-4 hours to make it flexible enough to work with. Goat-skin or calf-skin heads suit the bongo. Since they are thinner, they can be soaked in warm water for about 1-2 hours and they will be stretchable enough to use.
