Most late-model cars use electric motors (called actuators) to change the air temperature and direction of the airflow by opening and closing flaps in the heater box under the dash.

Disconnect the LH temperature blend door actuator electrical connector. 3. Remove the 2 LH temperature blend door actuator screws. 4. Remove the LH temperature blend door actuator.
