Most late-model cars use electric motors (called actuators) to change the air temperature and direction of the airflow by opening and closing flaps in the heater box under the dash.
Where is the actuator on an air conditioner?

So based on what I have read it looks like I will need to replace the actuator that controls the left (driver-side) vents which is located on the top of the heater box (blows cold for a while, then blows hot sometimes turning the car off and on again will get it to blow cold again for a little while).

1. Remove the instrument panel. For additional information, refer to Instrument Cluster / Carrier &/or Interior Moulding / Trim. 2. Disconnect the LH temperature blend door actuator electrical connector. 3. Remove the 2 LH temperature blend door actuator screws. 4. Remove the LH temperature blend door actuator.
