Once your engine is up and running the computer continuously and moderately opens the purge valve. This action allows fuel vapor to move from the charcoal canister to burn in the engine. A hose connects all of these parts to form the EVAP system. Like many automotive parts, dust and dirt can clog the canister.
How do you remove the hose from the purge valve?
Just unplug the electrical connector. You will have to remove one hose to reach a bolt on the upper intake and the other side to take the main air intake off. Remove the former from both sides and remove the latter from the idle valve not the air hose. The air intake fitting is plastic and you don’t want to break it.

If your canister purge valve is stuck open, however, it creates a vacuum leak that can affect your engine adversely. This will change the car’s air to fuel ratio, and can cause rough idling (car feels rough and bouncy when the engine is running), as well as difficulty starting.
