The O-rings seem to swell/expand when in contact with fuel (likely to make the seal) so motor oil works the best to get the new ones re-seated. Careful not to drop the o-rings once coated in the oil, they are slippery & kind of expensive! A picture of my drivers side OLD O-rings are included with this review. The new O-rings matched up perfectly.
