What does it mean when car wont Rev over 3000 rpm?
Just noticed something strange. When the car is in neutral and stationary and I rev the engine the revs wont go past 3000 rpm. Is this a normal safety feature or is it a problem. When the car is moving I can rev much higher and even select the sport mode button which makes the car rev to give max power.

Why does my car not Rev over 3K?
No revs over 3k ???? must be a long distant cousin to VW …… sorry couldn’t resist ! It looks to have gone into safe mode, which keeps it below 3000 revs to prevent engine damage. I’m surprised there isn’t another fault code as low EGR flow should not trigger it, many people have theirs blocked off.
