Much better cams out there than the GM Hot Cam. I highly recommend Cam Motion cams. For a stock torque converter, the Cam Motion LS3 Stage 3 (high lifter version, mild performance cam) would be excellent. 220/230 int/ext duration, 0.595/0.595 lift with a 117+4 LSA.

Always wondered what the stock cam specs are, and how they differ from the one mentioned above. 204/211 .551/.525 117 LSA. It’s an old grind from when the LS1s first came out, the low lift and long duration combo kept from beating up the stock springs (this was before aftermarket beehives existed).
