The bore spacing is 4.38″, which is the same as the 289/302/351W. The deck height is less than that of a 351W (9.2″ vs 9.5″). The trans bolt pattern is the same as a 260-351W. Hence, it’s a small block. IMHO, 351M-400 are still small blocks, although the deck height is taller than a 351W (10.3″ vs 9.5″) and the trans bolt pattern is 429/460.
