Hello, I purchased my beautiful black Ram Bighorn in May 2018 and to date have logged 5500 frustrating miles on it. It seems this truck is plagued with the familiar loud intermittent humming noise.

Why does my Dodge Ram make a whining noise?
You could put the axle on jack stands with the wheels off the ground and run the speed up a little to see if you hear anything rumbling or whining. If you detect anything then try to determine if it is pinion or carrier bearings. Pinion will be a higher pitch sound as it turns faster then the carrier.

Click to expand… This just started happening to my truck this evening. It has 6670 miles and the noise can be heard throughout the RPM range. It didn’t matter the speed it was a pulsating humming. I’m going to see what happens tomorrow and schedule an appointment with the dealership
