Is the 3406E Turbo Upgrade a good idea?
It makes 30psi but will get passed up the same hill with the same loads by our 475 horse E models with 10 speeds and im running a 13. Its just kinda weak. Many fuel filters, no boost leaks, wastegate wired shut. No check engine light until last week.. Code 51, intermittent power to ECM which im trying to track down.

Are there any problems with the Caterpillar 3406E engine?
Rather than issue a recall, Caterpillar handled the crankshaft problem as they came up, and has been pretty good about replacing the defective ones when a problem is reported. The 3406Es are also known to have pretty bad oil leaks, especially from the rear structures and flywheel housing.
