Is colorguard a good workout?

Our colorguard has a workout routine used during the season to help build strength and flexibility. Colorguard is very athletic, using dance, flags, rifles, sabres, and the occasional other auxiliary pieces of equipment.

How do you train to be a color guard?

  1. Step 1 – Guard Training. Week 1: Quick introduction, followed by learning basic stationary movements with the rifle.

  3. Step 3 – Marching with Colors.

  6. Step 6 – Elite Color Guard Qualification.

Colorguard is a mix between traditional militaristic color guard — which raises flags and spins real rifles — and ballet or modern dance. They dance, spin and toss flags and wooden rifles, spin swing flags with long silks and small poles and sometimes spin metal swords called sabres.
