It is a green artifact. Oh yeah, artifacts aren’t bound to be colorless! In this case, Birthing Pod’s mana cost contains a green phyrexian mana symbol, therefore Birthing Pod is a green card.
How birthing pods work MTG?
Birthing Pod is an artifact that allows you to “upgrade” a creature by sacrificing it and searching your library for a replacement creature with converted mana cost equal to the sacrificed creature’s converted mana cost + 1. You can choose any creature, as long as it meets the converted mana cost requirement.

When did Splinter Twin get banned?
2016
Back in 2016, Wizards of the Coast banned Splinter Twin citing poor color balance reasons and the card taking too much share in the metagame. Wizards of the Coast care a lot about diversity, especially in a format as broad as Modern, so banning it after Pro Tour Fate Reforge seemed a reasonable step to take.
Is brainstorm modern legal?
It is not banned (and modern doesn’t have restricted) because it was never printed in a modern legal set to begin with. Modern includes all cards printed in core or expansion sets from 8th edition forward (minus banlist of course).
