Rebuilt presre. reg on throt. bdy & replaced plugs,wrs.cap,rotor,ect. then it started poppin’ & pingin’. cometo find out coil was bad too. Do you have to put gas in the throttle body?
My 97 s10 will run great but you have to put gas in the throttle body for it to start.It will turn over but needs the direct contact of gas. There is also this ticking noise that is only heard when you role the key over.

Fuel Pressure is critical to the operation of a fuel injection system. Always check to insure that you have the proper fuel pressure. Fuel pressure should be a constant 10 – 15 PSI on a TBI fuel injection system and is typically around 12 – 13 psi. Higher pressure than 15 psi indicates that there is an issue with the installation.
