What do Tombow numbers mean?

On each Dual Brush Pen you’ll find 3 numbers. These are hue, chroma and value. For example, the first 2 digits denote the hue and chrome, so 00 to 10 are yellows, 10 to 20 are greens, etc. The last number on each pen marks the value of each color, with 0 being the lightest and 9 the darkest.

How long do Tombow brush pens last?

-With moderate use, each pen will last about 1.5 years on a refill. With heavy use (daily), they will last a few months. Since refills are available I’m not too concerned with this, but they do seem to run out faster than the Tombows.

Can you dip Tombows in water?

Write your entire word in the lightest color first. Take the darker color and apply to the bottom (just like in technique #4). Take your paintbrush and dip it in the water. Because Tombow pens are water soluble, they blend together beautifully.

How do you fix a dried out Tombow?

To revive a dried out brush pen, like a Tombow, soak the tip in water for a few hours. Another option is to put a few drops of an Ink Refresher product into the pen’s reservoir and let the solution sink into the tip of the pen.

Can you color with Tombow dual brush pens?

Dual Brush Pens and Watercolor Art Below you can see that I was able to make some pastel bubbles using a handful of Dual Brush Pens and the Tombow Water Brushes. Not only are the Dual Brush Pens a good option for blended watercolor backgrounds and coloring, but you can also use them for lettering!

Are there different pen colors for Tombow markers?

The updated version for all 108 pen colors. If you don’t have all the Tombow pen colors – to fit all the 108 spaces in this case – you can add any others like Mono drawing pens, highlighters, fudenosuke pens (my fav!), etc.

Are there printables for the Tombow color chart?

So for this reason I made 2 printables: a Tombow 108 color tracker and a 96 color tracker which you can download at the end of this post (they are in the same file, choose which version you want). Both charts have a numbered and non-numbered version.
