In order to raise the dump bed, the dump truck driver or operator engages the PTO, which diverts engine power to the hydraulic pump. The driver then engages the hydraulic pump which operates the hoist and lifts the dump truck bed.

Hey all… I have a 2003 Ford F350 Super Duty dually with a 10ft. dump bed that won’t go back down when it’s up without some creative moves by myself (pulling it back down with a rake while holding the button.) It also seems as if it’s not lifting as much weight as it should…..
