Re: Does the Remote wire have constant power? ( Your remote wire is a remote turn on wire the wire acts as a switch in the sense the when you HU is one the remote wire out puts 12V turning on you amps or whatever. The remote wire does have power running through it the entire time the HU is on.

Why does my head unit have no remote wire?

If you were to connect your amplifier’s remote terminal to the power antenna wire then you would only get output from the amplifier with the radio. When you switch to CD the amplifier would not work because the head unit turns off the power antenna wire when the radio is section is not active.
