Can you hook up subs without amp?

Subwoofers are designed to increase the bass frequencies, resulting in a deep, thumping sound. In most cases, they are paired with an amplifier to boost the sound. If you do not have the funds for both components, you can still hook up a subwoofer without an amplifier; it simply involves a little more know-how.

How to hook up an aftermarket radio to a factory AMP?

The diagram pic shows how an aftermarket radio would be hooked up. Metra makes a harness (70-1725) which allows you to hook the radio’s RCA outputs to the facory harness (more on this later).

How does an amp hook up to a stereo?

You can either cut them off (like we did in the photo below) or just tape them up – each wire individually – so that none of the wire ends can touch anything else. Meanwhile, the RCA cables carry the audio signal to the amplifier and the blue wire from the stereo turns on the amp whenever the stereo is turned on.

How to wire aftermarket radio to Honda AMP?

If your radio doesn’t have RCA outputs, you will have to install a line-level converter on the radio’s speaker outputs. This will convert the high-level speaker outputs to line-level to go to the Honda amp. A good point was brought up in another thread.
