Can a John Deere 350 be without a reverser?
Can a John Deere 350 be without a reverser?
If a 350 is sans a reverser, then there is a master engine clutch attached to the pedal. This, then, leads to confusion sometimes. With a reverser, the machine will roll with the trans in gear and the engine off. No hydraulic pressure to make up the clutch pack. The reverser has two power paths within. Forward is thru the center shaft.
Is the 350C reverser the same as the 350D?
440 for hire but be aware its 50% welding rod! There is nothing like the smell of the bottom side of a pine stump. The reverser is identical for the most part in any model that it is in. There are a few little things that are different from the Straight 350 through 350D models.
Why is my John Deere 350B reverser whining?
If the problem persist it could still be a bearing. The reverser has hydraulic pressure plates that release and pressurize as directed. I have never had to repair one and can’t give much insight, someone will be able to jump in on this potential issue. The whining noise you mention would indicate to me the reverser is going into bypass.
Can a winch work on a 350C reverser?
The winch only works if the reverser is in the forward direction. Not to get too off topic here but figure its worth mentioning. There are 3 powershaft configurations for a 350C. The first one is a “plain jane” so to speak, no reverse and auxiliary drive.
When did the JD 350C reverser come out?
Last edited by LeonardL on Sat Dec 31, 2011 3:09 pm, edited 1 time in total. 40 plus years working on JD 350s, 400Gs, 450s and other equipment both Ag and Construction. Correct me if I a wrong, but I belive most dozer machines were equiped with a reverse gear in the transmission where are loader machines were not.
How does the reverser work on a 350C?
On older dry clutch machines, there is a mechanical pressure plate that engages the clutch packs. On a few straight 350s and most 350B models, which have dry clutches, the reverser supplies hydraulic pressure to steering assist cylinders that help in steering effort at the levers.

Why does a Deere winch not work in reverse?
The reason being is that when you strap a deere winch on the back, if you do not have a reverse gear then you cannot winch in and back up at the same time (reverser in forward, transmission in reverse). The winch only works if the reverser is in the forward direction.
