Where to find serial number on Onan engine?
If you are missing the data plate or model ID label then look for the six or seven digit serial number stamped into the block. If you are replacing pistons, rods and related parts, extra attention is needed. Please see our information about old and new style pistons and rods.

Where is the speed adjustment nut on an Onan engine?
Place the engine under a light-to-moderate workload. Locate the spring on the side of the governor arm, about two-thirds of the way down from the end of the arm. Follow this spring back to a bolt through a mounting flange, with a nut on the opposite side. This is the speed adjustment nut.
