If it reads ~30-50 Ohms or even s/c (short circuit) when cold then the sensor is faulty. You can also check that there is no visible connection between the brass body of the sensor and its’ silver connector tag, due to a manufacturing defect From your picture there is an insulator (brown ring) there. Use a magnifying glass if you want to.
