I’ve had it since August and love the vehicle however, about a month ago I was driving and listening to the stereo when a really loud (crackle) or static came through the speakers.it did this a few other times in the last month but would be brief in duration and everything would function properly after.

While driving down the interstate the radio has “frozen” meaning the sound stopped, could not change channels, or volume and even the power button would not work. Only when I cycled the key off and back on did the radio return to normal.

Is the myfordtouch touchscreen on a Ford Escape?
Per last sentence in your first post you have SYNC2 with MyFordTouch non-Sony (8″ touchscreen); that’s all the info that’s really needed to describe your system, you did good. The specific SYNC2 software update version won’t have any bearing on a problem like this.
