Why is my Jeep Cherokee not blowing cold air?
Why is my Jeep Cherokee not blowing cold air?
One consistent thing I’ve read is to check how the compressor clutch reacts when you turn on AC – if it disengages then it doesn’t have enough pressure and likely has a refrigerant leak. My 94 Cherokee (apparently not great AC systems to begin with) seems to be blowing only slightly cool air when AC is on max settings.
Why does my car AC blow cold air then blow warm air?
But that cold air turns warm fairly soon after because the high side pressures build to the point that the high pressure switch shuts off the compressor clutch. Once pressures equalize, the high pressure switch allows the compressor to start up again. The cycle repeats over and over, providing a short period of cold air, followed by warm air.
What should the pressure be on the AC to blow cold air?
Keep checking the pressure gauge to confirm if you don’t overfill. The ideal pressure is 40 psi. Once the refrigerant is filled, head inside the car and with the thermometer placed inside one of the AC vents, note the temperature. An ideal AC should blow cold air which is about 28 degrees.
How does the air compressor in a car work?
Some car compressors use a clutch inside the air compressor. The serpentine belt powers the air compressor pulley, and when you activate the AC – the clutch is connecting the air compressor to the pulley. This makes the AC compressor to spin and power the AC system.

Why does my car AC blow cold air on one side?
If the car AC blows cold air on one side and hot on the other, there are a few different causes but it’s likely the blend door actuator, also known as the temperature blend door actuator or vent mode door actuator
Why is my air conditioning not working on my Jeep Liberty?
Dana Dowling/Demand Media The air conditioning system in your Jeep Liberty compresses a refrigerant and blows the resulting cold air into the passenger cabin. When this system is not working properly, it can be because the pressure in the AC lines is too low, or because the compressor has failed.
Is the a / C blowing hot air or cold air?
I know as a jeep the AC is not its beat feature! Mine blows cold but its no artic blast.. Pull the temp control knob off & make sure the shaft is turning when you go from hot to cold, the knob center may be cracked. If good the blend door actuator may be stuck in the hot position.
