No luck. I’m getting fluid out of the bleeder, but I have no resistance on the lever and the clutch doesn’t function. If I unhook the line from the master cylinder and put my finger on the end, the clutch builds up pressure and will spray the fluid everywhere.

All you need to do is take out all the slop between the master cylinder push rod and the drop down arm. wear early enough so that a new plastic shim will prevent a problem. I replaced the plastic bushing with some brass shim material. This is easy and cheap insurance to prevent future problems.
