Why does the recirculate air button never stay on?
You go to hit the recirculate air button on the ac/heat control and It blinks a few seconds then goes off. Never stays on. Any ideas? It is supposed to do that. If I remember right, it only stays on when the A/C is on. If I remember correctly it’s telling you there is a controller error. You need a professional scan tool to pull a/c codes.
Can a recirculate air button be used in defrost mode?
Recirculation cannot be used in floor, blend or defrost modes. An indicator on the button will light up, flash three times and turn off when recirculation is selected in these modes.The air-conditioning compressor will also come on when this mode is activated. While in recirculation mode the windows may fog when the weather is cold and damp.

I got the flashing A/C light and was like, “*****!” This system is dumb. Re: A/C Button Flashes? If the truck thinks its below 40 degrees outside, your AC will not be allowed to come on to protect the compressor. Go figure!! The darn AC light will just flash on and off.

Why does the recirculation switch Flash 3 times?
If the recirculation switch is pressed into the ON position when the mode switch is in an unavailable mode position, then the recirculation switch LED will flash 3 times.
