Why does my Silverado have water on the floor?

It is usually disconnected which lets water come down the a-pillar. I’m new to this board but found this discussion when searching for exactly the same symptoms for the 2007 Silverado Crew Cab I bought a couple months ago.

Where does the water come from in a Silverado Sierra?

Yah, the drain for the window is under the wiper cowl and sometimes junk gets in there and clogs it up to the point it overflows into the interior. Yah, it will be tough to dry without some dry sunny warm weather. Even with a fan, it will take a while. Good luck. Neal, please don’t discount a leak source in the rear.

What does it mean when your car is wet on the drivers side?

Could be windshield or firewall. Could water be coming up from underneath? Check the firewall near your master cylinder. Also, look at the vents in front of the windshield for rust thru. It’s the windshield if it has been raining where you live. Also, turn on the AC and see if water is draining outside the vehicle.

Is the driver’s side floor board full of water?

A friend of mine had same issue, but his was on passenger side. Come to find out on his, it ended up being the windshield. Took him a while to find it but once he had windshield re sealed, never had no more problems with a wet floor board.

Where is the water on the driver’s side carpet?

On the inside, the water appears to be run along the seam between the firewall and driver’s side wall, under the dashboard. Can’t get the rubber lining separated from the firewall the see that far up. Anyone have experience with this? I got pics, too, but can’t figure out how to post them….

The first pic is me pointing at where the water appears in the cab, at the highest point up the firewall I can reach/see. The water flows along the seam between the firewall and the sidewall. The second pic is that drain for the vent below the windshield (driver’s side).

Oh, and there is a large grommet for the E-Brake cable in the bottom of the drivers footwell. If you have standing water, pulling that out would allow it to drain easily. A friend of mine had same issue, but his was on passenger side.

Why was my GMC Sierra floorboard full of water?

Not discounting anything at this point… If it’s a GMC and it was made in Silao, it could be a seam in the firewall about half way up in the engine compartment that was not sealed and did not raise its’ ugly head until I drove through a lot of water in the roadway at a speed higher than I should have been going.
