Click to expand… There is no traditional jamb switch, I believe it is part of the door latch. Today when I got home, opened the front drivers door the radio did not shut off, but it did shut off when I opened the rear driver side door. The problem may be in the door somewhere.

This should be a black w/ yellow stripe wire in the harness between the door and a pillar.

Inside the door panel there is a sleeve to guide the giant wad of wire, if someone was less than detailed, it may be f-ed up too. Causes even more stress under the boot, that you can not see. Someone was less than detailed on the Deville.

Theres a part of the latch that pushes against the pin switch. After awhile dirt builds up and it cant spring back out. Just spray in the latch and open/close it a few times then spray then open/close few times to work it in there. does your DIC state “driver door open” when the key is on. or like wrenched said.

This sounds like the same problem I had. you pull the key out and the radio does not shut off. I believe it was a problem in larit 4 doors. The issue is super simple. Ford used a cloth tape under the rear drivers door threshold. It soaks up water till the wire falls apart. Cut out the bad section, resoldier, and tape.
