Why does my Peugeot 307 engine not start?
After posting my question here and since my feeling was that the problem seems to be related to some air bubbles in the fuel system, I’ve decided to take out the fuel filter, drain all the diesel fuel, fill it manually (by using 10ml syringe since I hadn’t a manual pump) with diesel and mount it back. I’ve tried to start the engine but didn’t work.
What makes a diesel engine difficult to start?
The other one cause which I hope you never have is the HP fuel pump not working correctly while cranking the engine with the starter motor. This means an expensive repair because the hp fuel pump usually works with the timing belt and a new pump is expensive.
Why does a Peugeot 206 need a glow plug?
Crucially diesel engines, being compression ignition, are affected even more by ambient temperatures. Glow Plugs raise the temperature of the engine block or pre-chamber to aid combustion of the diesel fuel (i.e. this heats the engine up a little making it easier to start).
When does a car become difficult to start?
The car isn’t reporting any problems (and my OBD2 scanner reports no faults logged on the ECU) The car is starting to become difficult to start when the engine is cold.

What to do if your Peugeot doesn’t start?
If the starter spins and Peugeot doesn’t start, it can be more difficult to solve the problem because of many possible reasons. Put ignition plugs out and check them. Check the pressure in the fuel rail. Take the additional ignition key from the unit because it’s possible that the first one is broken.

How can I tell if my Peugeot has a bad battery?
Then, if you notice that the light becomes much weaker, you need most likely charge the battery and try to start your Peugeot again. Also with the battery discharged and the key turned to start position you can observe that the wiper blades incidentally start operating and the dashboard blinks.
