Why does my Ford Focus lock the fuel filler cap?
Unless the software has been changed recently the current Focus will lock the fuel filler cap on locking the car and it is very easily broken. The situation (for anyone who has one) where this occurs is when you lock the car – can’t open the filler cap – and then unlock it.
Why is the fuel cap flap not opening?
The flap over the fuel filler cap won’t come open, we cannot hear any solenoid moving when locking and unlocking the car. Another problem which might be related to this is that remote control key has also stopped working, I have replaced the cell in the key fob withno change.
Is there a way to lock the fuel flap?
A simple push to open, and with no filler cap to remove its easy to fill up, but, with the right size tube inserted the tank is also open to any other abuse. In the quest for innovation I guess this minor item was overlooked. But I would be interested to know of a modification can be made or added to lock the flap? Oops.

Is the fuel flap not locking with central locking?
Yes my pre facelift Focus has a cap on it and the petrol filler door locks, but the ST is facelift is easy fuel. door dosnt lock. Its the easy fueling thing cant syphone out and you cant even pour anything in either lost a bottle of redex finding out poured straight onto the floor underneath
