Why does my Ford Escape air conditioner stop working?
Something freezes up and causes the A/C not to blow, you can still hear the unit running but nothing is coming out of the vents. You have to turn it off and shut off the vehicle for about 15 minutes, then turn it back on and it will last for 30-60 minutes until it happens again. I have taken it to two Ford dealers, neither fixed the problem.

2011 Ford Escape. AC blowing hot air. The compressor kept cutting out. On and off but never cold air, anyhow. Bought the freon recharge. Tried to recharge high side (bigger tube) but the gauge read full (red area). I bled the AC high pressure line.

After installing a new blower fan motor the ac would only come out the defrost vents. The factory vacuum check valve is very hard to get to. So i bypassed it. Now it is working like it should and ac comes out the dash vents. I do not have a vacuum reservoir installed i will have to see if i will need to add it later.

Why is my Ford Explorer blowing hot air?
I am experiencing the same intermittent issue of the A/C starting to blow hot air when 2013 Ford Explorer has been sitting out/ driving in temps over 90 degrees outside. Been to 3 different Ford dealers in NC, SC, and PA and they have not been able to find or repair problem.
