Why does my Chevy Cruze 2LT Rs not blow air?

I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze 2LT RS that will not blow air from defrost. When on defrost the air blows from dash vents. Not 100% sure but don’t think it is the door blend actuator because when I crawled under the dash it looks like it rotates in every position.

Why does my Chevy Cruze not go into defrost?

Mode door, in the vehicle defrost is the upper most position of this door, with other vehicles ran into weather stripping falling off so was okay for the dash vent and floor. If sitting outside, could be just frost causing this.

All these newer cars are all controlled electronically not vacuum, there is a broken gear that doesn’t move the gear that throws it into defrost. it is BULL though in the older cars that used vac lines if something went wrong it would default to defrost because its a safety issue. new cars suck.

With a cold engine,look for a skinny vacuum hose that runs from the intake toward the fire wall . It should be going inside the cab and connecting to the A/C vent control.Some times the hose becomes disconnected or splits or cracks due to heat under the hood. Thats usually the trouble. When it fails and you disconnect the battery it probally just looses its position and has no idea where it is, rather then have no defrost, which is a saftey issue, it just defaults to floor and defrost. Mine was working fine until I pulled the a/c control unit out… Then no more center vents.
