Why does my Chevy C5500 series engine not start?
Not a MD truck but a late model Duramax had the same problem. Could bump the starter at the starter but not work the key. Had it towed to the dealer and they found a fuse under the fuse block in the engine compartment. Had to lift out the main fuse block to get to this hidden fuse. Not a normal location and totally not visible.
What should I do if my Duramax engine wont start?
With the engine OFF, loosen fuel filter assembly plastic bleed screw a turn or so, and depress the round priming pump on top of FF assembly until fuel squires out of vent. CAREFULLY close plastic vent nut with fingers or nutdriver. Depress pump until firm. Barely finger tight with nutdriver is all you need.
