Why does my car sliding door not open?

Why does my car sliding door not open?

Since this is a forum about cars and not family relationships, I’ll just say that the door won’t open easily now. If I just pull on the latch, it tries to open but it seems that something’s catching, and it reverses and closes back up. If I pull on the latch and guide the door back a few inches, it opens fine.

Is the sliding door on my T & C locked?

The driver side sliding door on my 2008 T&C Touring is locked, and will not unlock no matter what method I try, including manually moving the slide. The passenger side works fine. Ugh, not looking forward to paying a mechanic to fix it; that video of removing the actuator looks really time-consuming. Besides, as I said, the door is locked.

Why does my Town and Country sliding door not lock?

We had several doorlock actuator’s fail in the right rear slider of our 2010 town and country. The doorlock would jam and you could not lock the door manually or with the electric button. Be thankful it failed/jammed in the unlocked position rather than the locked position.

What to do if your sliding door does not lock?

The doorlock would jam and you could not lock the door manually or with the electric button. Be thankful it failed/jammed in the unlocked position rather than the locked position. Much easier to replace the rear latch assembly (if that’s what failed) when you can open the sliding door, compared to being locked shut.

Why does my Town and Country automatic sliding door not open?

This reboots the electronics and the “magic touch” gets rid of residual stuff in a hurry, rather than waiting around with the battery disconnected, so I’m told. This procedure can cure glitches.

Where are the power buttons on the side of the door?

Look for the toggle switch on the overhead console by the other buttons. The power buttons located on the inside of the doors in the middle row on both the driver and passenger side stopped working. The overhead console switches still work for them as does the remote.
