The 1987 tachometer works perfectly. The tachometer wire is green/yellow, but my EVTM shows it as dark green/yellow. The wire you want to be looking to attach it to on the 4.0L wiring is tan/yellow. Q- I have a 1996 2.3L Ranger 2WD.
