Where is the relay on a CLK320 cab?
Where is the relay on a CLK320 cab?
I found a relay by the 3″ x 3″ square black plactic cover just left of the car battery in my CLK320 Cab 2001 I thumped it a couple times put it back and (whew) was able to close the top. Is it possible my relay is in different location?
Is the Mercedes Benz OEM relay still working?
Plus, the OEM relay has a 60-amp continuous-current rating (granted — that’s probably overkill). FWIW, the O’Reilly website states their relay is made by Optronics — but the one I just saw in the store was labeled something else. My original relay is still working perfectly after cleaning it up.
What’s the difference between a$ 4 relay and an OEM relay?
My point with the $4 relay is that it doesn’t seem to have the suppression-resistor across the coil like the OEM relay does — so that whoever it was that called a dealer and did a spec-compare shouldn’t be saying that the relays are the same.
What are the specs for a Bosch relay?
Also, according to the Bosch relay specs, the OEM relay 002-542-13-19 has silver-plated contacts — don’t think the $4 relay does. Plus, the OEM relay has a 60-amp continuous-current rating (granted — that’s probably overkill).
What are the signs of a bad starter relay?
Broken or corroded wiring – Damaged or dirty wires to the battery or to the starter solenoid (or wires that are loose) can prevent sufficient power from reaching the starter. Alternator – The alternator is designed to power all of your car’s electrical systems when the vehicle is running. It also recharges the battery.

How does a relay and solenoid work together?
Both a relay and a solenoid are devices that receive a low-power signal as a trigger to close (or sometimes open) a much larger circuit with more power. In the case of a starter, the ignition switch signals the relay/solenoid (possibly by way of a computer) and the relay/solenoid switches on the starter circuit to engage the starter.
