How to drain and fill a Ford Escape radiator?
Drain the radiator one final time and add concentrated coolant, exactly one half the system capacity for a 50% mix. Top off with distilled water as needed. Now you have a clean system with a precise concentration of coolant mix. Ok just did this. Nasty design. I got out a little less then 3 liters of coolant of the 9.2L.

Is there a low point drain on a Ford Escape?
Nope, there is not a low-point block drain. Been a long time since I’ve seen one of those on any engine. How do you flush coolant out of a radiator?
Pop the hood and unscrew the cap to the radiator. Put the nozzle of a hose in the radiator and begin spraying water into the coolant system. Do this until all of the coolant has been flushed out of the system. Screw the drain plug back into the bottom of the radiator and then pour a 50/50 mixture of radiator fluid to water into the radiator.

What’s the best way to drain and fill coolant?
Perform a thorough flush using a garden hose. The water used waters my lawn! If you want distilled water to be mixed with the new coolant [a good idea!], now is the time to drain the radiator and refill with distilled and run engine to full warm up to mix. Do this as many times as you wish.
