What to do when your car wont Rev over 1500 rpm?
When it reaches the point where it no longer responds to throttle lever movement, look at the linkage on the top of the pump and see if it’s bottomed against the high idle screw. If it’s not, move the linkage at the pump with your finger and see what happens…
Can you drive a car at 2500 rpm?
In first (or any other gear) gear I can drive up to 2500 RPM and then must shift into 2nd (or the next gear) if I want to go faster, if RPM goes above 2500 the car stops accelerating and the RPM drops to 2000 at which time the car starts to accelerate again.
What does high RPMs but won’t pick up speed mean?
It doesn’t sound like clutch slipping, if that was the case the rpms would skyrocket while your speed stayed the same. It sounds to me like your vehicle is in limp mode. If that was the case it would be throwing some sort of codes for sure and I’m guessing you would have a warning light.
What causes a tractor to not Rev over 1500 rpm?
I have a gravity fed fuel system so there is no pick up screen in the tank. Another thing to check is for a plugged fuel return line (low pressure line) from the injectors back to the fuel tank or suction system. A plugged line will cause problems such as you re experiencing.
Can a truck go past 1, 500 rpm?
Today my truck left me on the shoulder driving 8-10 MPH. It won’t rev past 1,500 and then only at half throttle. When I am running 1,500 rpm and mash it, the engine drops to a constant 1,000 rpm.

What does it mean when car won’t go past 2000 rpm?
Won’t go past 2000 rpm. The same thing happened to me. No codes, no lights, just limp it in. Shut the engine off and it would run fine for 3, 4, sometimes 5 miles but would drop rpm to 2000 rpm and into limp mode again.
