What should the voltage be on a Venturer?

What should the voltage be on a Venturer?

Start the engine and read each pair of terminals in the same order as you did above, 1~2, 1~3, 2~3. At normal idle speed, voltage should be around 20~25 volts AC on each pair. Rev engine to 4000 RPM and read voltage on each pair again. Voltage @ 4000 RPM should be around 100~110 volts AC. All pairs should read equal voltages.

What to do if your Venturer battery goes bad?

Disconnect the connector and inspect the terminal pins for looseness, corrosion, or damage, and repair as needed. Regulator/Rectifier location. Check for battery voltage between the connector terminals marked Bat+ and Gnd- to insure those circuits are good. Be sure to inspect the condition of the connector terminals.

Is there a problem with my Yamaha Venture?

This is a known problem on the Venture/Eluder line of motorcycles. In fact, older models were known to have their fuel pump fail at high mileage (mostly at 50,000 miles or higher). The fuel pump directs fuel from the tank to the engine. Every motorcycle owner knows that a bike will run poorly without fuel or may not run at all.

What should the charging voltage be on a Yamaha Venture?

Read battery charging voltage as engine speed is increased to 5000 rpm. Charging voltage should be 13.5 ~ 14.5 volts. If the voltage is around 14 volts, the charging system is OK at this time. If you have been experiencing intermittent charging system problems, double check all connections in the system.

What causes a Yamaha Star venture to die?

Some owners of older models have complained that the battery on their bikes tends to drain at an abnormally rapid rate while riding, indicating a faulty rectifier/regulator. This problem is disturbing for the owners as a low/dead battery can cause the bike to die mid-transit.

Why does my Yamaha Venture make a whining noise?

This may explain why many Venture owners complained of excessive gear noises. As said earlier, Yamaha directed dealerships to replace the clutch basket with a newer, improved variant. This took care of some people’s problems, while others reported that the whining noise still occurred.

How big is the engine on a Yamaha Star Venture?

An enormous 113 cubic-inch V-Twin engine powers the Star Venture/Eluder motorcycles. As such, some excess engine heat is to be expected, especially since this bike is air-cooled. Unlike water-cooled engines, air-cooled engines depend on moving air to cool the engine. This means lesser components (no radiator, water jackets, etc.) and lower cost.
