What kind of oil does a Ferguson 35 use?
Engine (Standard 23c aka Ferguson 35) worn and smoking. The oil dipstick had oil coming out (and the engine breather pip) due to back pressure from the work cylinders, but can also be caused by worn/faulty piston rings…. you can try taking off the rocker cover cap to see if more oil or fumes come out…
Where is the breather pipe on a Massey Ferguson?
This is in turn connected to a breather pipe, via a short connecting rubber hose, & exhausts near the bottom of the motor. If this pipe becomes obstructed the pressure is then forced out through the dipstick holder as pressure increases in the crankcase. The solution is straightforward. Remove the breather pipe and clean.
