Is Gardz a primer?
Gardz is more of a sealer, with glue like consistency. It’s clear and doesn’t do much to prime. You can try painting over it, but again it’s clear, so no help with covering stains or discoloration.

It’s a great product for what it’s designed to do. Get everything as smooth & clean as you can. Spackle any imperfections. Roll on Gardz Primer – two coats of you want to be obsessive.

Wayners Screwfix Select I’ve plastered over gardz no problem. If your worried about doing it pva and when sticky skim. Might take 15mins or more to go sticky. I’ve done that too a few times.
