you can use a 94 to 96 impala rear end. the ujoint is the same and its about 3 or 4 inches narrower. Can a Chevy Tahoe 2 door be swapped for a 4 door?
The only difference I’m aware of is that the 4-door has a sway bar and bigger brakes. Will this diff bolt up and work in my 2-door? I need to decide by Wednesday. Sorry. Forgot to add, this is a ’96 Tahoe, 2-door, 4X4.

did the rear end come from a 4×4 because gm used 2 diff width rears in the trucks the 14bsf came in 1500 with towing package and in ld 2500’s (88-98 models) 9.5″ 14 bolt is semi floating. It has c-clips. If the gears or axle breaks, the axle can go out the housing tubes. 10.5″ 14 bolt is full floating.
