Started up and drove to work. I can try it again at the end of workday, but does the remote start icon on UConnect actually enable the function, or does it just start the vehicle? Assuming either the recall mitigation patches or the hail damage repair work disabled it, I’m just curious….how DO you disable Remote Start?
Why does my Dodge Ram say remote start disabled?
The message on the Instrument Panel “Remote Start Disabled. Start Engine To Enable”. This has happened several times. Always after truck has been parked for ten hours or more. What causes this? Can it be prevented?

Remote was working fine till this morning. The vehicle starts fine remotely run for about 10-15 second then shuts down. The dash display says “remote start disabled start vehicle to reset”. I did do the Uconnect software update Thursday morning but this is the first time had the problem with the start.

From past 10 days, when I start the car with the remote start in the morning, it doesn’t start, the horn honk one time, and the EVIC gives me the message “remote start disabled – start vehicle to reset”. Then, when I sit in the car and start it, it works for fine for a couple of hours.

Why is the remote start disabled on my Dodge Ram?
Yeah, it’ll show disabled as a result of something. If nothing is wrong (check engine light normally), it’ll turn on and will run for 10 min before it shuts down. If you have a door ajar it will cause this. That being said my previous 17′ 1500 would do this intermittently for no reason.
