Federal law says that vehicle cannot be allowed to move into gear by it self or in the case of a child doing so accidently. So the shift interlock is used now on automatics. It’s normal. The steering wheel does not lock on the new trucks when the ignition is turned off.

What to do when your steering wheel won’t turn in?

When you feel the steering wheel wanting to spring back you have turned hard enough, do not turn the wheel too hard, turn the key with normal pressure (Do not force key). If a locked steering wheel is the problem this will fix it. Back to Troubleshooting
